The Identity GLBTA Fund
A partnership with the Alaska Community Foundation
Supporting a thriving community in Alaska for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people and our allies.
The Identity GLBTA Fund has begun as IDENTITY celebrates 30 years serving Alaska’s GLBTA community.
THE FUND IS FOREVER
The fund is endowed, meaning it will grow and its proceeds will be available to Identity in perpetuity. Even if Identity were to go away, the endowment will continue to support our GLBTA community.
THE FUND HELPS IDENTITY NOW
Identity will be able to use some or your entire gift for programs now, if you prefer. If you don’t specify, 40% will be used for current programs and 60% will go to the endowment. Identity’s officers are charged with making decisions on how to direct funds, with the advice of the Identity board of directors. The Alaska Community Foundation Board signs off on Identity officer decisions. If Identity were ever to dissolve, the Foundation Board would manage the fund in support of similar programs for the Alaska GLBTA community.
The Alaska Community Foundation is an excellent partner for Identity, ACF manages over 150 funds for individuals, groups, and non-profits, totaling over $25 million in 2007. ACF invests the funds and charges a very small fee. As a non-profit charity, all donations to ACF are tax-deductible. ACF opffers donors support and advice in charitable giving, and can help guide others to support Identity through the Identity GLBTA Fund. A fund like the Identity GLBTA Fund is a simple and efficient way to build an endowment and create sustainability for our community.
How to Join the Fund
You can support Identity’s programming and the future of GLBTA services in Alaska by growing the Identity GLBTA Fund. Your donations are tax deductible. You are encouraged to give securities, stock, real estate, personal property, partnerships in LLCs—and, of course, cash donations via check and credit card. For detailed information contact the Alaska Community Foundation, 400 L Street, Suite 100, Anchorage, AK 99501, 334-6700 or go to the Foundation web site at www.alaskacf.org.

Specify how you'd like your donation to be used, or specify dates for Adopt-A-Day in the "Designation" box.
Support the Community Center
The doors of our Community Center are kept open by folks like you. You can Adopt-a-Day for just $50, ensuring that the lights are on, the rent paid, and that, for that day, GLBT folks have a safe place to come to.
Last year, the Last Frontier Men's Club bought 12 adopt-a-days for $600 for the year. If your club is willing to do something similar this year, I would like to propose that you make it Pride Week or a Pride Month challenge. It would be good publicity for your group while helping the GLCCA!
For more information, contact the GLCCA at
, call 929-4528, or download our Adopt-a-Day form and mail it in to us.
